10/5-22: Private Lesson on Potter's Wheel
Ever wanted to learn how to throw one the potter's wheel?
Come learn the basics from owner, artist, and licensed art educator, Jill Savory!
In this one-on-one or two-to-one private lesson you'll create a vessel or two or three.
For a two-person private lesson, use code 2to1 at check out for the second spot to be discounted to $50 (total cost: $120).
You'll learn how to...
center the clay on the wheel
throw a cylinder
throw a small bowl
throw a small plate
wet trimming
safety working with natural clay
Learning how to throw on the wheel is as fun as it is surprisingly tricky. Jill, your instructor, knows this and never expects to get through the entire list of “things you’ll learn”. Each person is different and we all acclimate to new challenges at different rates and in different ways. Jill’s philosophy behind these private lessons “fun and improvement.” Laughing at the weird forms we make and how messy we get and then seeing the improvement that happens each time we start a new form is the whole point of these lessons. You’ll definitely learn a thing or two and Jill will give you lots of feedback - but these private lessons are meant to be laid back and enjoyable.
This one hour lesson included all of the clay and tools necessary for throwing.
It is a messy experience - so be prepared! Bring an apron if you'd like.
