Winchester Montessori After-School Ceramics

$180.00

Thursdays, 3-4pm @ Winchester Montessori
(Winchester Montessori students only)

In this special course designed for Winchester Montessori students of any age, students will learn a variety of clay techniques and form, decorate, and glaze 3 different seasonally inspired ceramic projects over the next 3 months - right after school! No going into the studio, arranging for picking up the pieces in your busy schedule - just ceramics after school with a certified art teacher!

Here’s how the course will work:

  • Each month there will be a different seasonally themed project

  • Each month will have 2 sessions: creating with clay in the first session, then glazing in the second

Dates & projects for this course:

  1. October 16 & 30 - pumpkins/gourds

  2.  November 6 & 20 - leaf textured plates/dishes

  3. December 4 & 18 - evergreen trees

*If a student misses a session in this 6-session course, they are welcome to make it up at Typewriter Studio during open studio time! They’ll just need to arrange this with Jill Savory.

*Due to limited adult help available after school, we ask that if your student is 5 years of age or younger that you attend classes with them to support them. We promise that this is actually tons of fun!

*Limited space - only 12 spots!

Instructor: Jill Savory, founder and owner of Typewriter Art Studio & Gallery, is a certified Pre-K-12 art educator and artist. She holds a Bachelor’s in Art Education from Northern Arizona University and is working toward a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Virginia. After a decade of working in public elementary school and years of working with high school students, she still remains deeply passionate about education for all humans and the role that the arts and humanities play in education and the well-being of society.
