Ceramic Coaster Workshop

$40.00

August 14, 6-7:30pm

$40/seat

Explore creating a clay slab and adding designs, textures, and patterns using found objects - turn your unique slab into round one-of-a-kind coasters with a holder tray! You’ll learn the basics of hand-building, how to use a slab roller, and learn the different stages of clay.

Each coaster set you’ll create will include: 3-4 coasters and a coaster holder all made by you!

This class is perfect for any experience level - recommended age: 8 years and up.

How ceramics workshops work:

  1. You come and make your creation using natural clay.

  2. The clay has to air dry for about 5-7 days, then Jill (Typewriter’s CEO) will fire it in the kiln.

  3. You’ll get an email when your project is ready to be picked up and you can choose to glaze it when you pick it up (glazing fee $20/coaster set).

    • If you choose to glaze your piece, you’ll leave it at The Typewriter, Jill will fire it again, and let you know when your finished piece is ready for pick up!

    • Don’t want to glaze it? You can pick up your coasters, take them home, and finish them however you’d like! We suggest sealing them with a spray sealant.
