Intro to Linocut and Relief Printing

$150.00

2 three-hour sessions

Dates: July 19-26, 1:00-4:00pm

Linocut is short for linoleum cutting, a form of relief printmaking. By using a block of linoleum (or rubber substitute), carving away certain areas, and rolling the surface with ink you’re able to create unique prints! This process can be used to create all sorts of things - print editions, textile patterns, cards, etc.

In this introductory mini-course you’ll create a set of custom tea towels (included) and are welcome to bring in their own items to print on. You’ll learn how to use the cutting tools, ink up the block, and use multiple printing methods.

All supplies for creating linocut tea towels are included. (2 tea towels, newsprint for testing, cutters, linoleum/rubber, inking supplies, printing tools)
