Kids and Grown-Up Watercolor
2 sessions, 90-minutes each
All supplies included.
$65/participant
Jill, owner of The Typewriter Studio and instructor of this course, is a seasoned art educator with a passion for both kids and grown-ups to create art. And when kids and grown-ups make art alongside one another, everyone learns more.
Adults are quick to (over)analyze and critique every mark they (or others) make, but kids are far more forgiving and enjoy the experience of watching the paint flow on the paper. Adults can learn something from kids in this way.
Kids may not always remember to rinse their brush or need extra demonstration of a technique. Kids can look to a grown-up for this guidance.
We believe art is a journey of self-discovery, and this workshop will help you foster creativity, positive self-talk, and acceptance of mistakes through the art-making process. Doing this alongside a kid you love is powerful for everyone involved.
Watercolor is not a medium known for precision, rather it is valued for its expressive qualities. Through this workshop you’ll learn how to swatch colors in an engaging way, learn watercolor techniques, and be guided through creating a lovely, expressive landscape painting.
This course is a perfect way to spend quality time with a young artist in your life!
(This course is designed for artists age 8+. It is not recommended for children to attend alone.)
